In quel periodo le uscite più importanti (structure deck abc ed espansione inov) delinearono il meta: abc: appunto altro mazzo t1 uscito da structure Metalfoe: nuovo mazzo pendolo basato sulle fusion paleozoic: mazzo trap, uno dei tre mazzi "rospotente based", xyz uscito in inov, gli altri due erano mermail e hero, sempre meta ma un pelino sotto questi tre. Altri mazzi interessanti ba e lightsworn Minerva.

Le versioni più gettonate sono trickstar e invoked, ma sappiamo come sono i giappo e infatti il pacchetto dragun lo ritroviamo pure in qualche lista di orcust, thunder, subterror e altergeist. Maxx e gumblar a parte (su maxx ci sono varie opinioni, su gumblar spero siamo tutti d'accordo) il meta con le nuove uscite si è fatto interessante, sebbene di nuovo come archetipo non c'è nulla. L'ultima breakdown uscita rivideva pendolo tra i top tier dopo l'uscita di Selene:

Predaplant Vert Anaconda: usata in thunder e cyber date le rispettive fusion (td fusione e overload) ma anche in qualche lista orcust per copiare instant e calare Winda.
Union Carriee: abusato in orcust per mandare roba al grave e da dragon link per la lock con buster dragon destruction sword (quando è equippato l'oppo non può evocare special dall'extra)
Selene, the Sacred Sovereign of Magic: in pendolo molto utile per scombare ma anche per il terzo effetto che permette di evocare reflector of endymion e rimbalzare un mostro dell'oppo, e in Spyral per evocare special master plan dal grave.
